Shree Nubri Primary School
We have assisted the Government to build a school, with a hostel, in the Manaslu area at Ghap, so that local children can be educated within their cultural homeland, using their own language and still be close to family. At present, only wealthier children have the opportunity to be educated in distant Kathmandu.
Women's Awareness Education Programs
"If a mother is educated then the whole family will be educated."
The women of the Manaslu area have no, or very minimal education so Project LAMA is supporting government to provide informal education for women villagers. It costs approximately Rs 100, 000 (less than $1000 US) to run an educational program in a village for three months, a cost that includes books, stationary, lamps, fuel, an allowance for teachers and porters charges.
